Perhaps when they were named they were spotted on Rhubarb and believed to be using it as a host. Once it was discovered that they did not, they name had already stuck.Shelly Coxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367843308248195970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1013316887660017880.post-63788510185410783192011-05-21T09:28:34.058-05:002011-05-21T09:28:34.058-05:00@Emma, it is funny you say that, I think weevils a...@Emma, it is funny you say that, I think weevils are adorable. We have some in the same genus here in AZ that are in all kinds of Asteraceae, mainly Seep Willow (Baccharis salicifolia) They are mating and boring their holes for eggs right now.Margarethe Brummermannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05623937180200255796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1013316887660017880.post-75201836317272134602011-05-16T22:58:13.461-05:002011-05-16T22:58:13.461-05:00They are not the prettiest creatures I have ever s...They are not the prettiest creatures I have ever seen.Emma Springfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10543689047463574012noreply@blogger.com
