I've seen them on trees before but nothing this impressive. I've been fortunate enough to see two swarms in my lifetime. One was like what you described hanging a sapling in our front yard. I thought it was a t-shirt hanging in the tree from our fourth of July part the night before, turned out it was bees. The second swarm I saw was two years ago about 60 feet up in a huge cottonwood tree. It is definitely an amazing sight to see, and from everything I've read they are very docile during this transition.Shelly Coxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367843308248195970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1013316887660017880.post-22437398679391041072011-02-18T10:06:47.248-06:002011-02-18T10:06:47.248-06:00That is an amazing growth. Walking during one spring looking for morels I almost walked into a sapling bent over from the weight of the swarm on it.There was a large tree nearby I had watched and figured the colony was splitting.Out on the prairiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09548162534362532705noreply@blogger.com
